These terms apply when you use the Anti-social book club mobile app and this website (“the service”). By using the service, you agree to them. If you don’t agree, please don’t use it.

The service

Anti-social book club identifies books from photos or text you submit, describes them, and helps you keep track of what you want to read. Book information and “how it fits you” assessments are generated automatically with AI and web search. They can be incomplete or wrong, so treat them as a starting point and not as fact.

Your account

The app creates an anonymous account for you when you first open it. You can also sign in with Apple or Google. You are responsible for what happens under your account and for keeping your device secure. Data in an anonymous account may be lost if you delete the app or change device.

Your content

Your notes, reading taste answers, and decisions belong to you. You give us permission to store and process them, and the photos and text you submit, only as needed to run the service. See the privacy policy for details.

Only submit photos and text you have the right to use, and don’t submit anything unlawful.

Acceptable use

• Don’t try to break, overload, or reverse engineer the service.
• Don’t use automated tools to access it or to get around the free limit.
• Don’t use it for anything illegal.

We may suspend or close accounts that break these rules.

Free use and Plus

Free accounts include 5 book checks each month. Anti-social book club Plus removes that limit and costs $2.99 per month or $29 per year; prices may vary by country and are shown in the app before you buy.

• Payment is taken through your Apple App Store or Google Play account.
• Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel. Cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period in your store account settings.
• Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their own policies.
• We may change prices for future periods and will give you notice before a change applies to you.

Our rights

The app, the website, the name, and the logo belong to us. We give you a personal, non-transferable licence to use the app for your own non-commercial purposes.

Availability and changes

We may change, pause, or stop parts of the service. We try to keep it running but don’t promise it will always be available or free of errors.

Liability

The service is provided “as is”. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer law that cannot be excluded.

Ending these terms

You can stop using the service at any time and ask us to delete your account. We may end your access if you break these terms.

Changes to these terms

If we change these terms, we will update this page and the date at the top. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept the new terms.
